According to the Wikipedia, “Electromagnetic shielding is the practice of reducing the electromagnetic field in a space by blocking the field with barriers made of conductive or magnetic materials. A conductive enclosure used to block electrostatic fields, it is also known as a Faraday cage. The amount of reduction depends very much upon the material used, its thickness, the size of the shielded volume and the frequency of the fields of interest and the size, shape and orientation of apertures in a shield to an incident electromagnetic field.”
Electromagnetic shielding, is basically a technique with the ultimate goal to reduce or eliminate external invasive EMFs which pollute our airways. Shielding can be partial or in full, also called faraday cage. Faraday cages are named after the English scientist Michael Faraday, who invented them in 1836, which it is basically a shield formed by a continuous covering of conductive materials around an enclosure or a room for this matter.
Shielding EMF completely is difficult, it is an invisible energy that populates everything, but with the enormous levels of harmful EMF radiation we are being exposed to today any shielding is better than none! When hot-spots are identified in an inspection for example, arrangements can be made to shield those areas to begin with.
EMF penetrates a building from all sides, roof, windows and doors as well. Critical areas of the property can receive better protection, for example kids bedrooms can be shielded, and so playing areas, offices, etc. There is no perfect shielding, EMFs always manage to penetrate, however EMF radiation can be reduced considerably, to hundreds of times lower back to safer levels.
Shielding is achieved by surrounding a building, room or enclosure with a metallic reflective material like in a Faraday cage. Today we use several different techniques and materials for EMF shielding, rooms for example can be protected by a graphite undercoat paint, a roof can receive a metal mesh layer under its tiles to shield the radiation, windows can be protected by EMF proof fabrics or films, and many other solutions can be implemented.

Currently our team is researching and trying to develop our own technology in shielding for domestic and work use, our aim is to create new techniques to neutralize and block internal and external emitting EMF sources.
Shielding is difficult, shielding can be compared to trying to hold water with a net, the physics of it are not straight forward, the stream of photons is yet not completely understood. There is a lot of research Worldwide today into shielding techniques for the industry, we want to help develop practical solutions to be used in homes and offices where the public need it the most.
