Electromagnetic shielding is the practice of reducing the electromagnetic field in a space by blocking the field with barriers made of conductive or magnetic materials. A conductive enclosure used to block electrostatic fields it is also known as a Faraday cage. The amount of reduction depends very much upon the shielding material used, its thickness, the size of the shielded volume and the frequency of the fields of interest and the size, shape and orientation of apertures in a shield to an incident electromagnetic field.
Environment electromagnetic shielding applied at work or home aims to reduce polluting EMFs in a specific area(s). Shielding can be partial or in full with a Faraday cage like system. Faraday cage is named after the English scientist Michael Faraday who discovered it in 1836. A Faraday Cage it is a safe enclosure, cage or a room made with conductive material with a final connection to Earth that leads the electrical discharge or EMF away safely, making the internal space free from the effects of the electrical or EMF discharge outside.
It is important to stress that EMF can only be mitigated safely using a partial or a full Faraday cage shielding. Any other methods that promises EMF deflection by some magical processes or anti EMF materials, or by using especial amulets, electronic devices or other gimmicks are in its majority dishonest, its claims fraudulent and products made with unproven technologies, that do not survive the light of scientific testing. The science for EMF shielding today is clear, only Faraday like shielding is effective and offer some degree of protection.

Shielding EMF completely is difficult, it is an invisible energy that populates everything, but with the enormous levels of harmful EMF radiation we are being exposed to today any shielding is better than none! When hot-spots are identified in an inspection for example, arrangements can be made to shield those areas to make the environment safer. Shielded areas can be hundreds of thousands of times less harmful than unshielded ones, in a longer scale of time the accumulative EMF exposure can be reduced dramatically, and that is the main purpose of EMF shielding, reduce the radiation exposure in a particular environment in time.
EMF penetrates a building from all sides, roof, floor, windows and doors as well. Critical areas of the property can receive better protection, for example kids bedrooms can be shielded better, and so playing areas, offices, etc. There is no perfect shielding, EMFs always manage to penetrate, however EMF radiation can be reduced considerably through time to lower levels closer to safety.
Shielding is achieved by surrounding a building, room or enclosure with a metallic reflective material like in a Faraday cage. Today we use several different techniques and materials for EMF shielding, rooms for example can be protected by a graphite undercoat paint, a roof can receive a metal mesh layer under its tiles to shield the radiation, windows can be protected by EMF proof fabrics or films, and many other solutions can be implemented.

Currently our team is researching and trying to develop our own technology in shielding for domestic and work use, our aim is to create new techniques to neutralize and block internal and external emitting EMF sources.
Shielding is difficult, the physics are not straight forward and the stream of photons is yet not completely understood. There is a lot of research Worldwide today into shielding techniques for the industry, we want to help develop practical solutions to be used in homes and offices where the public need it the most.
